The First Israeli ACT Conference, 2021
7 October 2021 · The Academic College of Tel Aviv-Yaffo · with Mifrasim Institute
It is often said that ACT stands on two legs — acceptance and commitment, mindfulness and behavior. If ACT has two legs, it also has a heart: the community. With those words the first conference of Israel's ACT and contextual behavioral science community opened.
The day offered seventeen workshops at every level of experience, combining ACT with psychodrama, art therapy, sex therapy and body work, and addressing a wide range of populations and clinical presentations.
The conference opened with a lecture by Dr. Ran Almog, a founder of the Israeli ACBS chapter, on the future directions of ACT in Israel, and featured a guest lecture broadcast from Louisiana by Dr. Emily Sandoz — "Looking Back to Stay Ahead: Recasting ACT as Behavior Analysis".
